Dental implants

Dental implants are artificial roots that replace lost dental roots.

These implants, firmly anchored to the bone, serve as a support for crowns, bridges or dental appliances.

The loss of a tooth, a group of teeth or the absence of almost all of the teeth

or completely toothless jaws,

can therefore be treated by placing implants.

Intervention

It will be necessary to plan two trips to perform your dental implants in Tunisia.

In general, a first trip of 3 to 4 days to insert the implants and the second of 8 days 4 to 6 months later, to place the final prosthesis on the implant.

However, the length of stay required may vary depending on the number of implants prescribed and any treatment that may accompany the placement of implants (temporary appliance, extractions, root canals, taking impressions, etc.).

These lengths of stay will be detailed in your quote.

The dental implant allows the creation of fixed and perfectly stable prostheses, which can remain in the mouth for many years.

Procedure

  1. Placement of the dental implant:

Under local anesthesia, the surgical phase consists of inserting the dental implant into the jaw bone. This procedure is painless. The new screw-like root is in place to replace the missing one.

  • Healing of the dental implant:

3 to 6 months later: Once the period of fostering has been completed (phenomenon called osseointegration), the phase of fitting dental prostheses can then begin.

  • Fixation of the prosthesis:

The installation of a pillar will allow the fixation of the crown which will serve as a permanent tooth. The new tooth is expected to last a lifetime.

Length of stay

For dental implants, it will take 2 stays.

  • The first stay will be for 4 days / 3 nights for the placement of the implants

  • After 4 to 6 months from the placement of the implants, the time needed for healing, a second stay will be scheduled, this one will last 7 days / 6 nights for the placement of permanent crowns.

Results

Your new tooth fits perfectly and functions as well as a natural tooth. After the installation of the Various controls are necessary thereafter to check the dental implants: their operation, their osseous and gingival integration

Failure

The failure rate is low: 1% to 2%. Smoking (more than ten cigarettes a day) multiplies this risk approximately by two. The age of the patient, when the latter is in good health and the jawbone is satisfactory in quantity and quality, does not appear today as a risk factor.

Lifetime of implants

The minimum lifespan of implants is ten years, but the vast majority are often longer, provided of course that you follow good dental hygiene and have your implants checked at least every two years.
