Buttock Augmentation

Increase in the volume of the buttocks by implants or reinjection of fat (lipofilling) in Tunisia

The buttocks and gluteal muscles are sometimes poorly developed. Small or flat buttocks are not in balance with the body. A sagging buttocks is an aesthetic problem, the result is a "square posterior" due to the sagging of the lower part and the lack of material in the upper part of the buttocks.

Buttock implants make it possible to achieve a natural increase in the relief of the buttocks by a scar hidden between the buttocks. Fat injection is the technique of extracting a sufficient quantity of fat from the patient by liposuction, in order to reinject it into the buttocks.

General anaesthesia
Duration of the intervention:  2h to 3h
Recovery: 10 to 15 days.

Pre-operative assessment: blood test, lung X-ray for smokers and an electrocardiogram for people over 45 years old.

Two possibilities to increase the volume of the buttocks

Buttock augmentation with implants

The implant inserts into the gluteus maximus muscle with a vertical scar in the gluteal crease, making the scar minimal and almost invisible. Then the implant is positioned between the tissues of the large gluteal muscle (intramuscular). The implant is placed only in the upper half of the buttocks. The average volume of buttock prostheses is 250 to 350 g minimum and up to 500 g maximum.

The incision is made in the inter gluteal fold covered by the panties and even a thong

Buttock augmentation by fat injection (lipofilling)

Buttock lipofilling is an intervention that increases and shapes the volume of the buttocks by reinjecting your own fat. fat injection  allows you to sculpt the body while shaping the buttocks.

Fat reinjection is interesting when the desired increase in volume of the buttocks is not too great. The fat is first sucked out by  liposuction  in the abdomen, hips or saddlebags. The surgeon uses a special, very fine cannula which allows only the ideal tiny particles to be sucked out, which have the greatest chance of life.

This grease is sucked up with low suction so as not to damage the grease, which is a very slow and very meticulous process. It uses tiny incisions, but carefully injects only very small amounts (1 ml) of fat in hundreds of different levels throughout the desired area of the buttocks. It takes about 300 1ml syringes to fill a buttock (equivalent to a 300gr prosthesis).

This work is long and very meticulous, which requires a team of 3 to 5 people and several hours of work. The result obtained is very natural. The fat is reinjected on demand and in sufficient quantity (minimum 300 ml per side) to shape the buttock in all its projections.

Fat loss or loss of the graft is normal in a maximum ratio of 30%.
Inconvenience :

Premature fat melting, asymmetry requiring secondary retouching.

What are the consequences after a buttock augmentation?

  • The postoperative course can be painful for the first few days.

  • An analgesic treatment will be prescribed for a few days.

  • The first dressings are removed after 24 hours.

Hospitalized for 3 to 4 days during which it is necessary to remain motionless on the stomach or on the side.

  • The scar must be well cleaned and dried every day in order to avoid infections.

  • The pain is rather strong and relieved by analgesics.

  • On leaving the clinic, it is still difficult to walk and sit without pain.

The pain persists:

  • Tightness in the buttocks (scar)

  • Hypersensitivity

  • This discomfort can last 2 to 3 months or more.

It will be necessary to wait at least 3 months before resuming a sport that solicits the muscles of the buttocks.
